Position: Technical University of Kosice (Slovakia, EU), Faculty of Metallurgy, head of Department of Metals Forming

Specialization: Theory and technology of plastic deformations of metals, experimental investigations and mathematical simulations of influence of plastic deformation processes on structure formation and properties metal materials, nanostructural formations by SPD, steel research for autobodies.

 

At the METAL 2015 conference Prof. Kvackaj will present a lecture "Structures and Properties Formation
                                                        by Plastic Deformations" at the Plenary Session.

 

Education and Career Accomplishments:
Prof. Tibor Kvačkaj graduated from Faculty of Metallurgy, Technical University of Kosice, Slovakia (EU), in 1976 in field of study "Automatic Controlled Systems". From year 1976 till 1978 he worked in steel company SZ– Podbrezova, Slovakia (EU). He obtained the Ph.D. degree in field of study "Materials Science and Metal Forming" at Faculty of Metallurgy, Technical University in Kosice in 1983. 

In 2000 he was named as full Professor for "Metallurgy of Metals". He is head of Department of Metals Forming from 1992. He is chairman of international conference "TherTechForm" from 1996 and Editor-in-chief of scientific journal of editorial board of journal "Acta Metallurgica Slovaca" and “Acta Metallurgica Slovaca – Conference”. 

 

Research Interest:
He published as author and co-author more than 350 original scientific works published in journals and conference proceedings.
